The Gorges du Verdon have their source near the Col d’Allos and stretch for about 100 km. In some places, their breathtaking depth reaches 750 meters! Obviously, its dimensions make it the largest canyon in Europe!

The Gorges du Verdon are divided into four distinct geographical zones:

• The Pre-Gorges du Verdon run from the village of Castellane to the Point Sublime.
• The second part, the Grand Canyon stretches from the Samson corridor to the Sainte-Croix lake;
• The Gorges de Baudinard begin downstream from the Sainte-Croix dam and then cross the 3 lakes area until the Quinson dam
• The Low Gorges from the lake of Quinson to the lake of Esparron

The Gorges du Verdon and its region are a real playground for sportsmen: canoeing, mythical climbing routes, exceptional hikes, paragliding, white water swimming, mountain biking, you will be able to practice a different sports activity every day!

The Gorges du Verdon fully deserve to be listed among the most beautiful natural sites in France and Europe. The beauty of the landscapes has inspired many documentary filmmakers, including François Bertrand who made a three-dimensional film (using a drone) entitled “Verdon secret”.

The lakes of the Verdon (Castillon, Chaudanne, Esparron, Sainte-Croix and Quinson) are not without reason very frequented in summer: exceptional quality of the water (nothing to do with the Mediterranean sea!), clean and equipped banks, renting of electric boats and canoe-kayak…

We suggest you to book your activities and accommodation well in advance, especially if you are going during the high tourist season or if you plan to visit the region for a weekend, so as not to lose time and to enjoy the beauties of the Verdon as much as possible!

The visit of the Verdon is suitable for all profiles and the most reckless among you will find something to satisfy their desires of strong sensations. Did you know that you can go for the most vertiginous bungee jump in Europe? Indeed, the bridge of Artuby and its 182 meters of height assure you a powerful dose of adrenalin and strong sensations!

If this is not enough for you, another activity, quieter but not less sensational, proposes to you to survey the Gorges by the underground ways. Indeed, speleology invites you for an excursion to the center of the earth. Accessible to the youngest, the activity nevertheless requires the services of a guide. Claustrophobic people should not go!

A little higher up in the air, how about discovering the Verdon by paragliding or microlight? No level of physical condition is required to try the adventure: children (from 7 years old) and adults are welcome to discover the wonders of the Verdon gorges from the sky.
